Welcome to Virginia is for Travelers

“The roses nowhere bloom so red as in Virginia. The sunshine nowhere shines so bright as in Virginia. The birds sing nowhere quite so sweet, and nowhere hearts so lightly beat, for heaven and earth both seem to meet down in Virginia!”

Whether you live in Virginia or just love to travel here, you know Virginia offers something for everyone. It doesn’t matter if it’s surfing the waves in Virginia Beach, enjoying the views from a mountaintop winery, exploring America’s history in Williamsburg, or visiting the Washington DC area—you’ll see why Virginia is one of America’s treasures.
In fact, there is almost too much to see and do. And most of the travel blogs out there come up short. Many are government tourist boards or written by people who don’t even live here.
And that’s why I started this blog. I want to help people who live in Virginia (or who love to visit) get the most up-to-date information on things to do, places to stay, and where to eat. And not only Virginia but the surrounding areas or other places I think Virginians have an interest in.
My promise to you is that I won’t write about it unless I have personally been there. I don’t just surf the web for information, use stock photos and write a blog. If I haven’t had boots on the ground, you won’t be reading about it on this blog.
My name is Lori Mang and I’m a transplant from Colorado. As a military spouse, I’ve lived all over the United States. Virginia is the place I feel proud to call home. And I know you feel the same way.
So join me and let’s explore The Old Dominion state!
