Nothing strikes fear into the heart of an RVer more than picking a site at random when rolling into town, fingers crossed and expectations guarded. And that goes for stays at RV Parks in Las Vegas as well. Will this RV park be loaded with Cousin Eddie types touting a noisy pack of kids and dogs? Online reviews can only paint so much of a picture, providing a few sentences or paragraphs.

Family-owned and operated, Canyon Trail is home to vacationers and full-time residents in the quaint “green spot” of Boulder City. This full-service RV park near downtown Boulder City is just 25 miles from Las Vegas and a stone’s throw from the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.
It’s an easy drive to the excitement of Las Vegas, but at the end of the day, you can drive away from all the crime and grime and back to tranquility and safety to spend the night. Of all the RV Parks in Las Vegas or the surrounding area Canyon Trail was one of the quietest even during the day.
Quiet, Safe, And Amenities Galore
With real estate, location is everything, and when choosing an RV park, that does come into play, but what you want is a safe place with a solid reputation to park your home on wheels. Canyon Trail checks all those boxes and more.
The charm of Boulder City is a great start. It’s a small town with historical significance, boasting a low crime rate and an excellent vantage point for exploring the lower Nevada region.
This park suits RV enthusiasts with its accessible, large pull-through sites, a dump station, and plenty of juice up to 50 amps to keep the AC flowing. There is a single entrance with paved streets throughout and graveled sites.
The park is pet friendly, and the showers and laundry will make you feel at home. The bathrooms/showers have key code entries to ensure you and other guests are the only ones using the facilities.
There is plenty to do on the premises, with Wi-Fi available throughout, plus the pool, spa, and rec room. Boulder City offers a year-round swimming pool, golf courses, tennis courts, and hiking trails for off-site fun and exercise.
The park was nearly at capacity when we visited, yet it seemed quiet. That’s a win!

Home on the Range: Red Rock Campground

3293 Moenkopi Road, Las Vegas, NV 89161
RV non-electric $20 nightly
https://www.blm.gov/visit/red-rock-canyon-campground
702-515-5387
You cannot pass up a stay at the Red Rock Campground if you’re looking for a stunning location and a no-frills camping experience. The campground has a remote wilderness feel just a few miles from Mt Charleston (as the crow flies) in the Mojave Desert, about 20 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. There are 53 campground sites, and only six can accommodate RVs, so scheduling ahead is a must.
You will find gravel roads throughout the park (so it can be dusty). That solidifies the “ home on the range” feel. Each site has a picnic table, grill, and fire pit. Some basic creature comforts are vault toilets, drinking water, and trash cans.
Stunning Views and Exciting Recreational Opportunities
Since the campground is only two miles from the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, you have a stunning view and plenty of recreation nearby. For $15 per vehicle, you can enter the conservation area and enjoy the 13-mile scenic drive.
Additionally, you can get out and stretch those legs and check out the landscape while biking or hiking some of the 60 miles of trails. More experienced visitors may do some rock climbing up the 2000 documented rock climbing routes. Guided hikes and educational programs are available on select days of the week.
There is a strict policy about being checked in before parking your vehicle at the campground. So if you arrive before your stay, you can drive through but don’t stop or leave your vehicle. A fine won’t be a good start to your visit.
This policy reduces any extra traffic you’d ordinarily get from day-use hikers. And if you looking at all the RV Parks in Las Vegas or the surrounding areas you’d be hard pressed to find another that tries hard to cut down on unnecessary traffic.
This is a tranquil campground, so if peaceful bare-bones camping is your thing, book now!

Amenities
- Shade Structures- The relief from the sun can be enormous in a desert region, and you will find shade structures throughout the group sites and at many of the individual sites.

You’ve got options when you stay at the Hitchin’ Post RV Park because there’s much more than just an RV park on the premises. Here you’ll also find a motel for those in your group who might prefer elevated creature comforts!
There is a saloon & steakhouse where you can wet your whistle and satisfy your fandom with a complete sports package viewed on nine flat-screen TVs while you enjoy a menu of delicious food choices.
You’ll notice right away how clean the RV park is at the Hitchn’ Post. It shows when a business is family-owned and operated (since 1948). That is a point of pride, as is their goal to offer the best customer service in town. The folks at the Hitchn’ Post want their facility to stand out when you’re hunting through the RV Parks in Las Vegas.
They’ve recently added some new amenities they are proud of, specifically the putting green and hot water dog wash. A little spoiling of your four-legged family members is always well received.

Located just north of Fremont Street in downtown, Main Street Station RV will have you close to the action. The RV park at Main Street Station isn’t the prettiest site, but it serves its purpose as a place to park your rig within walking distance of the fun. The wide-open park makes navigation a breeze with its five-acre lot and 72 full hook-up sites. Both 30 and 50-amp service is available.

Cable tv is available, as is Wi-Fi.
Beyond the campground, you don’t have to venture far to take advantage of the extensive amenities of one of the premiere casino resorts on the Boulder Strip, Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall. A Forest in the Desert? Yes, at McWilliams Campground

At the end of Lee Canyon RD (Route 156)
Las Vegas, NV 89124
$25 non-electric nightly
https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232168
877-444-6777
For campground inquiries, please call: 702-872-5486
If you really want to get away from all the lights and noise of the city but still want to be within driving distance, McWilliams Campground is the perfect solution. About an hour from The Strip, you will immerse yourself in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
While technically still in the desert, at 8,600 feet, the scenery and foliage are quite a departure from the miles of desert landscape surrounding this picturesque oasis.
The drive up Lee Canyon Road from route 95 will take you through a changing landscape as you ascend a few thousand feet up to the campground. The desert gives way to cactus fields, bushes, and a forest of magnificent towering ponderosa and white pines.
Want to Feel Like You’re in Colorado? We Have You Covered.
The seventy-five campsites that can accommodate tent campers and RVs continue up the mountain as you enter the campground. These are all standard non-electric sites. This is an ideal three-season campground, spring, summer, and fall. There are several single and double-family sites, each with a picnic table, grill, and campfire ring.
Multiple restrooms with flush toilets are a significant creature comfort, as are the drinking water and regular trash collection. These are the amenities you would expect from RV Parks in Las Vegas, but not necessarily out in the wilderness an hour away from The Strip.
What’s nice is the roads and parking spurs are paved, so you don’t have to worry about getting stuck when the weather turns wet or the nuisance of dust everywhere. The recent renovation of the entire campground has breathed new life into this site with upgraded washrooms, tent pads, and other noticeable improvements.
Over 100 springs in the area helped create the name for the mountain range. The breathtaking views seem endless between the 60 miles of hiking, horseback trail riding, and mountain biking. For those more experienced, there are also some rock climbing locations nearby. A scenic 45 min drive will get you to one of the large casinos on the northeast side of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas RV Resort: For Adults Only! One of the BEST RV Parks in Las Vegas

3890 S Nellis Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89121
$104 – $158 nightly (basic through to premium sites)
866-846-5432
We love our families and extended families, but as awesome as those children and grandkids can be, sometimes you need some quiet adult time to wind down and recharge your batteries. This is exactly what the Las Vegas RV Resort had in mind with its adults-only RV community. You won’t find many RV Parks in Las Vegas like this one.
Beyond the lack of kiddos, there are plenty of other reasons to choose an adult-only RV Park.
- Relaxing stay– As we’ve pointed out, an adults-only visit will give you the prime conditions to relax without kids hogging the pool or running around screaming.
- Community of friends– You may not have set out to make new friends, but it’s almost inevitable when living in an RV community. Don’t be surprised to see some of these friendships flourish, especially when children are not a distraction.
- Amenities a-plenty– Without whole families to cater to, an adult-only stay can fully indulge the needs and comforts of mature adults. The outdoor hot tub and pool are extra relaxing without little feet and loud voices in the vicinity. Plus, you’ll have full-reign in the fitness center, park, and book exchange. Your pets are welcome, making it a true family affair even without the kids or grandkids.
- Romantic One-on-One– Reconnecting with your significant other can be hard to do with the hectic nature of daily life. Hitting the road alone and having a relaxing stay together doing what you love is one way of rekindling the spark!
At the Las Vegas RV Park, you’ll find 379 full hook-up sites and room for vehicles needing 100+ feet. This RV Park is top-notch and by far the first choice for RVers in the Las Vegas area. Every site has 30 and 50 AMP connections and offers the flexibility of daily or monthly rentals. Since one size doesn’t fit all, you can choose standard, deluxe, premium, or XL sites.

All sites are spacious, clean, and close to the amenities (that includes four laundromats). Most lots have nice covered seating, tons of shrubbery, and outdoor kitchens with gas grills. Because this RV resort only takes newer big rigs, the average age group is middle-aged to seniors with no children. This means the resort is quiet.

Wow. Thank you. My trip to Las Vegas is totally sorted now thanks to your fabulous info and tips.
We have often thought of travelling by RV. Your opening comment about who you will find at a random park is certainly a concern. So great to have a list of good RV parts in the Las Vegas area. Definitely something for everyone.
This is a wonderful, super detailed guide. It’s like having a friend that lives in the city you’re visiting and telling you exactly where to stay and what to avoid.
Thank you. A good overview, there are 3 to 4 that are on my list. The ones in and close to Las Vegas and that allow kids 🙂
Thanks for reading! Appreciated it.
